There was a site at the Chelyabinsk airport with a clumsy and illiterate name aeroport74.ru. Apparently, at that time the domain airport74.ru was already scored by the advertising agency "Seventh Heaven", selling advertising space in CHAP. For me, the ad agency fits this address like a cow saddle, and the airport people could try to buy it, but not the essence.
The website was developed by the web-studio “Zerkala” - the office as an office, moderately lazy (from which, possibly, ceased to exist). They did not register the domain registration agreement with the CHAP, but with themselves (
LTD Disign-Studio Otragenie ). I do not know how common this practice is, but it turned out to be very inconvenient. Because "Mirrors" were soon closed, and there was no one to extend the period for registering a domain. Well, that is, there were new dudes who served the site, but they did not have the legal ability to pay for it.
Well, to hell with him, thought at the airport. We will buy it at auction, when they put it up, for 600 bucks. But fate was also unfavorable to them. The site became interested in cybersquatter. Fuck him a site with such an incongruous name - is unknown. The buyer for it all the same, only one, in the end. Carried away by the increase in prices, the airport people thought better of $ 1,305. Squatter offered $ 1310 and won the auction. Now in CHAP they hope that the squatter will be afraid to pay - and they will still get their domain name back.
')
But most importantly: why are they so persistent and willing to pay for a dumb domain name twice its standard market value? But because while they had this site, they, in a fit of pride, inflicted "aeroport74.ru" on all the souvenirs - business cards, posters, advertisements - which cost them much more than a miserable one and a half bucks. How much, I will not say - and then the cybersquatter can read. =)
