Russian bribe takers nailed to the board of shame

A website appeared on the Internet with the talking title vzjatkam.net . This is a kind of board of shame with the names of bribe takers, the list of which is free to replenish each.

To "defame" a person, you do not even need to fill out the registration form. Although, the field for the name of the applicant is provided. That is, in principle, you can subscribe to your message.

However, it is clear that, along with truthful "denunciations", there can be slanders - the project creators openly say that "the administration of the site is not responsible for the accuracy of the information." However, in the very next sentence, it was stated that the publication of the data of a person is for him “a reason to think.” Moreover, it is “a reason for law enforcement agencies to look at its activities.”

Despite the nobility of the stated goal - and the resource seeks to fight corruption - it is difficult to evaluate it from the point of view of the law and ethics. Nevertheless, the creators of the site write: “Understanding that the anti-corruption measures taken by government officials are ineffective by definition, they are unlikely to cut themselves out, we decided to resort to the help of the public. After all, the bribe taker is most afraid of what they learn about his crime. ”

Judging by the annotation, the project vzjatkam.net was initiated by the eponymous public organization - “Bribes. No”. Information published about people who may be extorting money for services includes their names, positions in specific organizations, circumstances, objects and amounts of bribes, as well as the names of intermediaries in bribery.

According to "New Region" , the site posted about 40 reports of extortion. The geography is the most extensive: Moscow, Tiraspol, St. Petersburg, Surgut, Chelyabinsk, Makhachkala, Novorossiysk. Complaints are received both by high-ranking officials - heads of administrations, vice-governors, and representatives of universities, traffic police officers.
