Today we officially launched a social network for private investors in the framework of
TIKR.ru. The basic idea is simple - to combine the capabilities of traditional financial services with the benefits of a social network.
If you identify a successful investor (and this can be done on the basis of his public portfolios and forecasts), you can add him as a friend. The scheme is similar to one-sided friendship in LJ, i.e. friend confirmation is not required. Accordingly, there are mutual friends, and guests like guests in Odnoklassniki, only without paid features. From the outside, you can also invite your friends as usual acquaintances with whom you discuss investment ideas. Using the mechanisms of friendship, one can significantly expand the circle of acquaintances who are successfully engaged in investments. The question is - why?

Thanks to the created circle of friends-investors, the user gets a number of advantages through being in constant “investment contact” with them. Special tape "Events" (read - "Newsfeed") automatically notifies the user about such actions of his friends as buying and selling stocks, new forecasts for companies and comments in diaries.

Each such notification corresponds to the action that the user most likely wants to perform. For example, if a friend of mine buys Gazprom shares, then I’m also offered to add such shares to my portfolio; if a successful investor makes a positive outlook on Sberbank, then I get a signal that maybe I need to consider buying shares of Sberbank. And vice versa. As a result, I and my friends can find interesting investment ideas more timely and use them when making my own investment decisions.
I believe that adding social mechanisms will allow investors to more effectively find truly better investors. And, together with friends, each member of our social network will be able to improve the profitability of their investments.
Our goal is to develop a resource in the interests of ordinary Russian investors. Since our business model does not rely on trading commission, we provide tools that should make investment decisions independent of banks and more profitable from the point of view of individual investors.
As usual, I would like to receive comments from knowledgeable and creative people who like and dislike and, most importantly, what else could be done for users to make more profitable investments. In advance - thanks to all participants in the discussion.
