D-link router is buggy: is this normal?

In general, such things.

I connected Akado once and I wanted to connect a router that would distribute the Internet over the air for laptops and send it over the cable to the desktop.

We bought the D-link router not one of the cheapest, but I can’t tell now the model. When installing the firewood, they were surprised how simple it was and how it was explained step by step how to stir up the network that we wanted. The cable from the Akadovsky modem went to the router, the cable went from the router to the desktop. It turned out that there was a binding on the Mac and the router had to give the poppy, which was at the laptop that was originally connected to the provider, and had to assign some kind of left-handedness to the laptop so that it would not conflict.

An interesting trabla was discovered only after a while. When I used the Internet on WiFi, the router was tightly hung, not responding to the desktop on the IP address and hanging both the WiFi and the Internet via cable. The local admin suggested that this is possible due to the fact that d-link generally has the tendency to hang tight with heavy traffic and advised to reflash.

And indeed, as far as can be judged, we may have found a connection between downloading a movie through a torrent at a speed of 600 Kb / s (on a connected laptop) and the hanging of the router. Searches for firmware did not lead to newer versions.

It is also worth noting that when the laptop does not suck the wifi connection, the desktop shakes the same torrents and never hangs.

Is it really impossible to do anything else?

UPD: Model DIR-400
