Last time we talked about how to mimic bullets in a body with the help of fishing line and washers. Today we will talk about how to achieve the same goal, but with the use of pyrotechnics, like the big ones.
Our old institute comrade (a pyrotechnics fan) collected us a very cheap system consisting of a piece of wood (for protection), a Corsair-1 firecracker, a needle from a syringe (to pierce a hole in the petard), a nichrome thread (as a detonator), wiring and several batteries . Well, it was not without condoms with homemade blood .
The essence is as follows. The thread is stuck in the squib, connectors from the batteries are connected to it. The petard is placed in a protective box, to which the condom is also attached with blood - above or below the firecracker. The whole structure is glued to the body, after which, at the right moment, the circuit closes - the thread heats up and the squib explodes.

We tried to fix the box and on the naked body, and under the clothes, with a firecracker over or under the condom. It turned out different results.
On the naked body. Note the delay between the circuit and the explosion in all the rollers. To minimize it, you need a much more powerful current source than a few batteries — for example, a car battery.
Under the shirt. The petard, who is under the condom, does not tear the T-shirt, so that the result looks quite natural. Although blood is a bit much.
Over the condom. Here, a petard is attached over the condom, so the shirt is torn (in a previously notched place). You can see a flash of fire, but it is easily removed in post-production.
Findings:

- The most realistic option - when the blood does not fly out, but remains under the shirt and spreads
- For rooms, the old way is better, otherwise you can deaf
- You need a car battery, otherwise the delay between the short circuit and the explosion is very high
- When a firecracker is mounted on top of a condom, it’s more like an Alien jumping out of the chest, or like a bullet exit
