Thanks to the new WARP technology (Windows Advanced Rasterization Platform) in Windows 7, it will be possible to run games under DirectX 10 and DirectX 10.1.
Microsoft introduced a new technology. WARP, which will be implemented in Windows 7. The main idea of WARP is to launch 3D applications without a 3D accelerator. So almost all computers will be able to show the Aero interface in Windows 7.
CPU requirements are more than acceptable: at least 800 MHz, MMX and SSE are not required. Although it is worth noting that having a faster processor with multiple cores and support for SSE 4.1 will provide better results.

For example, a new technology was tested on the game Crysis. At a resolution of 800x600 and with minimal graphics settings, the 8-core i7 processor showed 7.36 FPS (frames per second), while the integrated video from Intel showed 5.17 FPS!
Personally, I think that this technology will not be superfluous, since Not everyone has an Aero interface, and now it will be available to everyone. On the other hand, I must say honestly that for real large, heavy toys, this technology is in no way suitable, since with 7 FPS is not possible to play. All the more so where do you find the 8-core i7? J
However, in spite of all the above, this technology opens up very interesting prospects for the creators of light casual toys. Now it will be possible not to think whether the user has an accelerator or not.
