Nokia E61: How to open a local HTML file

It will soon be the third year, as I develop software, using not only a regular computer, but also a Nokia E61 smartphone as a workplace. Now I don’t need to carry a laptop with me to complete the program, and I can edit the source code and compile it with only a smartphone. Given that I am developing software for mobile, this solution turned out to be almost perfect for me. Mobile workplace has become an excellent means of personal time management - allowing me to do work when others have time spent on standing in long lines or trying to portray sleep in the subway. I am not a workaholic. Transferring the work to the “garbage”, which would have been otherwise wasted, I freed the evenings and the weekend FOR LIFE.

However, enough of the lyrics. This is not about the pros or cons of working on the road. The following method is useful to anyone who needs to view a locally saved HTML file on a smartphone.

Any program, no matter how well he is in control of his own life, time from time to time to look at the document. Well, if your workplace is a personal computer. But I work every day for 2-3 hours between home and office on a smartphone. Hellfire

I work with J2ME, and its documentation is subject to the same type of local HTML files. Even scrolled files on the Nokia E61 flash drive, I haven’t opened them with a built-in phone. The file manager X-plore XT and allows to see the HTML-page, but does not give a link to the link.

Having remembered the name of the house, there is no connection to the area.

It turned out that the OPTICA openly opens the local files, allowing to search for the text on the opened pages and follow the links on the other pages. To open a local file, in the browser line, specify the location of the file in the following format as the URL:
file: // localhost / E: /Documents/JavaDoc/API/MIDP/index.html
If you just enter file: // localhost / E: / , the browser will allow you to go through the directories of the phone's flash drive and specify the desired file "online". Having saved the links on the most likely pages of the “HELP” page, I got a very good help system on the basis of OPes.
