And in parrots, I am much longer ...

It always surprises me that in the absolute majority of motherboard reviews, half is dedicated to overclocking. And this applies not only to specialized sites like overclockers.ru, but also to other respected publications. Even silentpcreview.com, which is mainly devoted to the fight against noise, contains an overclocking section in its articles.

In the review, the author usually tries to squeeze everything out of the board, raising frequencies, playing with voltages, putting giant coolers, etc. Why all this? Overclocking was relevant 5-7 years ago, when there were no monster-like graphics accelerators, and the processor frequency gave a significant (linear) increase in games. Now the struggle is for 5-10%. Moreover, except for games it does not matter in almost any areas. Even if you got that very 10% acceleration on video coding, at the cost of incredible efforts to tune the BIOS settings, what does this give, besides self-affirmation? Saving time on tasks is rather a fiction. A person who so meticulously saves time should be effective in everything he does, otherwise it is not worth the effort. I’m not even talking about memory overclocking - here, in general, academic interest is pure.
