Benefit from Habr?

Recently, active discussions in the “Habr is no longer the same” style and other karma-generating reflections on free topics have noticeably subsided. And it pleases.

But if you ignore the situation and look at everything from a rational point of view - does the karma on Habré bring any usefulness and benefits?

I can understand, for example, what is the use of the popular LJ - a large number of readers give a greater response, a larger information space, and it just helps in life: I personally found work several times precisely because of LJ.

I can also understand what the benefits of a popular account in mass networks like Vkontakte and Odnoklassniki can be. (It helps to meet girls, of course :-)

But what a bonus from big karma on Habré (besides personal satisfaction and world harmony) is a mystery to me.

That is why it is interesting, were there any cases of profitable use of this karma itself? Say, when applying for a job (well, except, of course, the current head of Habr). Or even in some situation.

Update . For less confusion, it is worth clarifying that karma is not always equal to authority. But authority also concerns the question.
