The Israeli branch of the company
“Orange” sent a letter to its customers yesterday with unusually entertaining news. The letter says that in the near future, the company, in addition to mobile services, will begin to provide cable Internet and telephone lines. In addition, customers are offered to leave their details so that company representatives can call back and inform in person about the launch of this program.

Thus, insider rumors were confirmed, which I wrote about in the August article. As you can see, there is not so much official information for ordinary customers, but some preliminary conclusions can already be made ... Firstly, from now on, there will be one more provider in the Israeli market. This is of course about an Internet provider, the company “Orange” thus becomes an independent ISP. Secondly, in addition to providing Internet services, judging by the letter, a license for cable telephony has been obtained. It seems to me that we are talking about the VoIP technology (Voice over IP), which has managed to gain popularity in Israel over the past year. Thirdly, it can be assumed that the company will want to combine its services into one package and allow it to save a certain amount to its customers. Almost certainly, the company will provide its routers for wireless communication (now such a fashion), and therefore the logical question arises - “Will there be direct interaction between the cell phones provided by the company and the PC using the same Wi-Fi?”

Let me remind you that, according to the results of the March results, Orange holds in its hands 32% of the cellular services market and is among the top three leading cellular operators in Israel. Also, I would like to mention that the Israeli branch of the company was the first in Europe to start testing the 3.5G technology (HSDPA), as a result of which the Israelis were able to surf the Internet at high speeds. I hope that the orange company will be able to offer us not less drastic offers soon in terms of Internet services. In any case, I would very much like to believe in it.
In any case, such a turn of events should slightly shake up the Israeli Internet market and push Internet service companies to accelerate the pace of development and testing of technologies previously announced. After all, as you know, competition is the best engine of progress.
