Tokenized shares: how to become a Gett investor before the company’s IPO

The recent IPO of the Lyft taxi service has sparked increased investor interest in the field of taxi services. However, besides Lyft and Uber, in the near future, major players in this market do not plan to hold an IPO. For example, the Gett service is going to go public only in 2020.

What is tokenized securities

STO (security token offering) is a form of attracting investments, where tokenized securities (security tokens) are the object of investment. In essence, these are real shares of a company that certify ownership of the owner, give the right to dividends, a share of profits, etc.

Despite the fact that for the production of such tokens blockchain and cryptocurrency technologies are used, this process is regulated by the state. In the case of a Gett offer, the release and turnover of tokens occurs in accordance with the regulatory standards of the EU financial market.

How it works

Gett digital securities are called GTT. They will be released on the OKONTO platform under an agreement with ITI Capital Limited and Da Vinci Capital Management Limited, the management company DVC Drive Tech Fund SP (Gett shareholder).

Tokens will be provided with shares of the DVC Drive Tech Fund SP fund and tied to Gett preferred shares. This means that when the company conducts an IPO in 2020, security tokens will be converted into Gett shares and credited to investors' brokerage accounts. GTT tokens can also be exchanged at the current exchange price.

Token cost, investor rights

It will be possible to purchase tokenized shares as part of the STO, which is scheduled to begin on June 28th. It will be held on the OKONTO platform website .

One GTT token includes 160 preferred shares of 3 types:

• Class B - 134 shares,
• class C - 5 stocks,
• class E - 21 shares.

The minimum investment for all classes of investors is 415 euros.
