On Kickstarter appeared budget photopolymer 3D-printer Longer

I could not get past an interesting project to raise funds for the production of photopolymer 3D printer Longer on the site Kickstarter.

About him in the topic and will be discussed. And specifically about the model Orange 30.
Photopolymer 3D printer (SLA UV) is a simple and reliable desktop model that is accessible to everyone. No serious skills are required for basic printing - the manufacturer Longer has several training elements for 3D printing of videos. The printer is not very noisy, has no open moving or heated parts, and is practically safe for use at home or in the office.

It looks like a Longer Orange 30 in the form of a cube with dimensions of 20x20x39 cm, the base is massive, metallic, with a light-protective cap on top. Under the cap there is a bath for photopolymer and a Z axis drive, raising the printing table gradually up, as the model is created. At the base is a control board with a touchscreen display, a UV matrix for photopolymer illumination, and a 2K display (LCD display with a resolution of 2560x1440 pixels). The size of the bath is 120x68 mm, the maximum working stroke along the Z axis is 170 mm. This is more than the popular budget Sparkmaker SLA 3D printer.

If you decide to become a Becker, then keep in mind that currently the rate is $ 229 (Orange 30 printer + photopolymer bottle). Shipping cost in the Russian Federation $ 110. They promise to start sending samples in August 2019.

As for the 3D printer Longer Orange 30.

This is one of the most budget options. You can wait and get this printer on sale. But the price can rise (on Kickstarter, the “crossed out” price is $ 450). May not rise. OEM clones of previous Longer models are freely sold in Chinese stores (FDM printers from $ 150 and up, SLA from $ 250).

As for the design: everything is quite simple, but effective. Z axis is rail MGN12. Not shafts, but a normal (Chinese) rail. Tray for photopolymer used metal. Yes, it is simple, on the tacks, stamped, but it is not plastic. The table for forming the model is also metal, the design provides for the alignment of the table.

Bold plus of this model is the presence of a touch screen with printer control, printing and preview of models. I have never seen the built-in file viewer anywhere before. In my opinion, this is a killer feature in the budget model.

Attaching a video presentation printer clip:

What is a photopolymer printer for - for printing exact models (copies) with high details (20 ... 50 microns). Such printers are used in dentistry, jewelry, modeling, etc. There are special photopolymers, for example, burnable (castable), which allows casting on 3D models.

As for the manufacturer - Longer3D and before that flashed, as the manufacturer of OEM models, which are then branded (for example, Alfawise).

In the catalog there is an interesting model Longer Orange 120 - this is a modified Sparkmaker, with a display and a metal bath. Comrades from Longer reworked the budget printer and fixed the main shoals.

Pay attention to the model Longer Orange 10 . This is the “youngest” model of the Orange 30. It has a similar design, but slightly smaller parameters: the print area is only 98x55x140 mm, and also the “childish” resolution of the matrix (854x480 pixels). The price of a similar printer is a little less than $ 300 in retail. The manufacturer has videos on the configuration, using the Orange 10 model, there is the content of the site (drivers, slicers, firmware, instructions).

Instead of conclusion: it's nice that startups are developing, consistently bringing to mind the projects.
Moreover, Longer has other interesting models. No wonder manufacturers buy OEM-Longer products and brand them.

As for the total cost, even with delivery, this printer costs half the price of the popular Wanhao Duplicator 7 and Anycubic Photon. You can, of course, unscramble the savings by buying two sets at once ($ 550 + $ 195 shipping). In fact, these are two photopolymer printers with a 2K matrix for the price of one Anycubic Photon.

In any case, I will follow the project, as it is interesting.
