Kreisel EVEX 910e: Historical Model - New Life

How to organically combine the love of electric cars and fast trips? Austrian company Kreisel Electric succeeded. Founding it, the brothers Krayzel focused on the release of high-efficiency batteries and energy storage systems for the home and the road, but they also have a “dream project” - the conversion of the EVEX Porsche 910 car to the modern electric sports car Kreisel EVEX 910e.

The EVEX 910e supersport car accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 2.5 seconds, and its battery has enough charge for a 350 km ride. The maximum speed exceeds 300 km / h.
Unlike the historical original, the EVEX 910e is approved for use on public roads. The electric car is produced in a limited series in conjunction with EVEX Fahrzeugbau GmbH.

Almost 50 years ago, riders Stommelen and Nerpas took the sixth place in the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the original Porsche with a two-liter 6-cylinder horizontal engine. A total of 35 copies of the car were produced - exclusively for ring and mountain racing. The value of the original for collectors is extremely high. In the 1970s, EVEX took over the production baton, but after four cars were assembled, production was stopped for a long time. Having converted the model 910 into an electric car, Kreisel Electric breathed new life into it.

To ensure maximum acceleration and speed, Kreisel has developed an automatic two-speed gearbox with gear ratios of 8.16 (1 gear) and 4.67 (2 gear), with a self-locking differential and an integrated oil electropump for lubrication and cooling. A powerful lithium-ion battery is installed in an electric car weighing 1100 kg.

To accommodate the power equipment and battery, the frame of the original car had to be slightly modified. In addition, Kreisel engineers have developed a new cooling system for a high-powered engine.

The battery can be used as a backup current source, since it provides bi-directionality - in the event of a power outage, it is possible to connect it to the power supply network of a private house to supply energy to household equipment.

Replacing a classic internal combustion engine with a patented electric motor with an increased interval between battery recharges required careful planning, design study by highly qualified specialists and the use of 3D technologies.
