After four years of work, the creators of the game Multi Theft Auto decided to publish the source codes of their game under the Open Source license.
Multi Theft Auto is a mod for the famous hit Grand Theft Auto. The project is really very large: more than 550,000 lines of code in C / C ++, 1,554 files, more than 11,000 revisions in four years of work, in which 16 programmers participated.
Now that the source is open to everyone, the Multi Theft Auto project can get a new impetus for its development. Actually, the organizers are counting on this. They want to keep control over the process in their hands: they have launched a bug tracker and will support the process of publishing new builds every day.
