Photoawards.ru: photo contests online

Hello to the habra people! About half a year ago we told you about our projects and plans, now it’s time to report on the work done :) In the previous post I wrote about our first child, the website Prophotos.ru , and casually mentioned the project that was at that moment in developing. And now it has happened, after several months of work, our team is pleased to present the Photoawards.ru project.

What is Photoawards.ru? The easiest way to talk about the project, saying that it can be done. Everything is simple in Photoawards : here you can upload your best photos and get valuable prizes for it. In a month we hold a dozen and a half different competitions in all genres of photography with a variety of prizes. Right now you can win, for example, a Pentax K200D reflex camera, a Meade telescope, a professional tripod, a MacBook, and even (our pride) the Riviera chronograph of the legendary Baume & Mercier brand. Many people do not believe that these are all real prizes that anyone can get just by uploading their photos to the competition, but this is true.

Moreover, the system is designed in such a way that the possibility of juggling and awarding the victory to the “necessary” works is reduced to zero. Each work is estimated by several people, at the moment it is a draft of the project. At the time of the evaluation, the expert sees only the work and nothing else, the voting is anonymous. Thus, the truly strongest work wins - the one that collects the most votes of the members of the expert council.

Of course, while not everything on the project is working perfectly, new ideas on organizing contests arise almost daily, and also, on a daily basis, we are trying to implement them and make user participation in the project more convenient.

Why are we doing all this? We really love photography, which is why we invented and launched Prophotos.ru a year ago. And we are very pleased by the fact that thanks to our new project, worthy photographers can receive (and already receive!) A worthy reward for their work. Join and you!
