Yandex for the second time holds a competition of research projects
Internet Mathematics . This event is part of the company's regular scientific and educational initiatives that are undertaken to stimulate the interest of scientists towards the most important areas of science for the company. Topics for research, as before, are set in the field of information retrieval and related disciplines.
According to the results of the competition, it is planned to finance about 30 semi-annual projects for a total amount of 5 million rubles. In the framework of the
“Internet Mathematics 2005” , we recall, the company allocated funds for 34 projects totaling 3 million rubles.
The participant of the Yandex competition can offer the initial data for the research. If the information provided is confidential, the company will enter into a non-disclosure agreement. It is reported that the "Internet Mathematics" will not be able to participate research that is funded or will be funded during the competition by other organizations.

A list of proposed topics, which, meanwhile, do not limit the scope of the survey, can be found on

website . Students, graduate students, researchers, university professors, as well as developers of information systems are invited to participate, regardless of age, place of work and length of service. The competition is open to researchers from Russia and abroad.
To enter the ranks of the contestants, applicants need to fill out an application and provide a brief program of proposed research, a description of data and methods, as well as an overview of the current situation in the subject area relevant to the research topic.
The company accepts applications until December 1. The results of their preliminary review will be announced before the end of the month. Authors of selected applications must submit their work by July 1, 2007.
