"Norilsk Nickel" and "Gazinformservice" completed the 1st stage of building the protection of corporate ERP-system
Since 2014, Norilsk Nickel has been automating key business processes based on the SAP ERP system in all its divisions. In January 2019, replication of the unified enterprise management system was completed, which ensured coverage of the entire production chain of the company in a single operating model based on a centralized ERP platform.
According to the head of the IT infrastructure protection department, Andrey Kulpin, such a large-scale digital transformation required the development and implementation of a reliable, modern SAP protection system.
“To identify vulnerabilities and build a protection strategy, the SAP security audit of PJSC MMC Norilsk Nickel was performed, and domestic and foreign products were compared. As a result, the SafeERP software package of the Russian company Gazinformservice was selected. The product provides control of the security of SAP systems, as well as allows you to control the compliance of system configurations with established requirements, perform integrity monitoring of objects and perform static analysis of program code.

We are confident that these solutions will become a model and will allow to securitize corporate systems not only for mining and metallurgical enterprises, but also for other companies with an extensive and diversified business structure, ”said Kulpin.
Commenting on the results of the first stage of SafeERP implementation, Deputy Director General of Gazinformservice LLC Alexander Pogrebnoy noted that the main result of the implementation of the SafeERP software package in Norilsk Nickel was the automation of the compliance control functions of SAP systems with corporate safety standards.
“This is not just a realized project, it is an example of harmonious interaction between the customer and the contractor in solving such an urgent task as ensuring the security of corporate information systems. In the course of the project, the mechanism of sustainable communication between IT and information security units of the Norilsk Nickel group was debugged, which is one of the key success factors in operating information protection systems of this class, ”he stressed.
The SafeERP software package was tested by information security departments of Norilsk Nickel enterprises during the year, the system was implemented by the team of Gazinformservice company with the direct participation of Norilsk Nickel specialists.
