Project Palantir

A group of Facebook developers - Jack Lindamood, Kevin Der and Dan Weatherford - recently started work on the Palantir project. The name of the project is, apparently, from the "Lord of the Rings."

So, in our court presented a video with the basic capabilities Palantira. We see the Earth, which geographically displays the activity of users of a social network. After that, our eyes are visualized connections between users. It looks very big. Registered users can watch the video at this link .

Facebook intends to continue working on the project. It reminded me of Twitter-TV, where you can see how people from all over the world post tweets. However, it is obvious that FB of such an interface would not be enough. They and the planet is not enough :)
