Recently, a discussion with affiliate programs, advertising, and competition began with a colleague.
We have an Internet project that solves problem A. Certainly, there are competitors on the market that solve a similar goal, but by other means. We worked a lot and gave a lot of effort, it is logical that we plan to take money for our decision. The competitor has its strengths, and there are many of them and he offers something that we don’t have (at least for the time being we don’t have, and this hasn’t even been discussed yet). Is it appropriate to link to a competitor's site on the final product page by offering this feature (a couple of requests for its implementation have gone to our mailbox).

And now the question: is it appropriate to put a link / banner on a competitor's site. Competitor, very cool. Knows nothing about you (us). There will be no back links. The purpose of the link is additional monetization due to an affiliate program conducted by a competitor.
