May 8, 2019 at a meeting of the Moscow community of Java-developers jug.msk.ru Victor Gamow told about Kafka Streams IQ ( Interactive Queries ).
Victor speaks for the fourth time at jug.msk.ru , his previous reports were about Nashorn ( November 13, 2014 ), Hazelcast ( May 4, 2016 ), Apache Kafka ( April 23, 2018 ). Like a year ago, currently working at Confluent , but now as a Developer Advocate .
Co-founder and host of the popular podcast Debriefing , co-author of the book Enterprise Web Development , speaker of many conferences (including those organized by JUG.ru Group ). Traditionally, before the presentation of the speaker and the beginning of the meeting, Andrei Kogun recalls about the upcoming events - applications for the Joker Java conference (St. Petersburg, October 25-26) are open and the TechTrain IT festival (St. Petersburg, 24-25) is expected to be held for the second time August).
The report was dedicated to Interactive Queries , part of the Kafka Streams API , which provides access to the intermediate state of the application and the results obtained without using traditional databases and repositories.
Presentation slide show alternated with sample code demonstrations. A large number of questions were asked, to which Victor instantly gave exhaustive answers, which is confirmed by the responses on Twitter .
The discussion continued both at the break of the meeting and after it. The meeting was attended by one of the speakers of the JUG.ru conferences , Ivan Ponomarev, whose recent report at the JPoint 2019 conference “Kafka Streams API: a step beyond Hello World” ( presentation , video is currently available only to conference participants) can be complemented by Viktor.
