JavaFX RIA technology is almost ready for release.

Sun Microsystems JavaFX RIA (rich Internet application) technology is almost ready to go.
Demonstrating a platform for Java-based applications (script-based components and a runtime system for desktops and mobile devices) - JavaFX, Sun officially stated that it gives the company the opportunity to enter the market, introduced by Adobe Systems with Flash and Microsoft with Silverlight. Deliveries of the basic JavaFX platform for desktops are scheduled for the end of this year.

“We can show JavaFX in action today and we are very close to delivering the final product,” said Eric Klein, Sun vice president for Java marketing.

Sun officially demonstrated the launch of JavaFX through the example of working with video, where the possibility of drag'n'drop video outside the browser, on the desktop, was shown. With JavaFX, users will get a unified platform by linking the capabilities of browsers and desktops together, unlike Adobe, which provides Flash for browsers and AIR (Adobe Integrated Runtime) for desktops.

“Here, in one environment, we will save the time, effort and money of developers, because they will not need to learn additional environment in the development process,” said Param Singh, Sun director of Java marketing.

By the end of the year, the first versions of JavaFX Desktop and JavaFX Script will be presented. An SDK and JavaFX Production Suite should also be released that will allow developers and designers to work together. Planned release and emulator for mobile devices. The official release of JavaFX Mobile will follow shortly. Plans and JavaFX runtime for television.

JavaFX technologies, like most Java products, will be free. But Sun has made and will make money on what is related to Java and will soon expect a significant increase in profits. But some question this strategy.
