I like the way the Web two-zero. There is something underground about this. Metro-2 comes to mind, high-profile cities with the same prefix in the name. Something under the heading "only for the initiated."
Meme 2.0 originated as a marketing project. Marketing is juggling with signs and symbols. This is the production of new symbols and the substitution of meanings. Each figure, except the mathematical value, contains a cultural meaning. Web 2.0 is not just the next step after Web 1.0, followed by Web 3, 4, 5, etc., but the opposite.
For a Russian-speaking person, Web 2.0 sounds like a “double web”, as if something with a “double bottom”. We know from the cradle that there are double standards, written and unwritten laws, official and unofficial sources, etc. and so on. They can not be. If they are not visible, it means that someone hides them well. And if he hides, he does not want to share. Web 2.0 is the opposition to the mass Web, the wrong side, the other (number 2) side of the coin.

Web 3.0 also has some semantics. This is the Holy Trinity, and the three desires for the Goldfish and many more, but in order for the meme to fire, it is necessary to find something more international and topical. For example, the Third World War or the Third Rome.
And yet, I doubt that Web 3.0 has a chance of becoming a stamp. The fact is that in 2 years this image has already been dragged in so much that attempts to give it a decent look will hardly convince anyone. And do not forget that the troika is both the “third world countries” and the “third one”.
However, apparently, the fashion for digital marketing is still far from exhausted. And I assume that meme 4.0 has all the chances to enter the media-mexicon. And mainly, thanks to the fact that, unlike the story with 2.0, this time, in fact, there is a technological breakthrough.
About the “Internet of Things” they have been talking for a long time, but this phenomenon is starting to take on a truly mass character only now, when the consumer has gained access to
two-dimensional bar codes ,
RFID and other mobile tags.
Objects of the real world are beginning to appear new properties that are inaccessible to our senses. For us, these properties are in another - apparently, the fourth - dimension. This semantic gap can be filled with the concept of Web 4.0.
Web 4.0 will contain those meanings that clumsily tries today to carry the poorly translated phrase “
Augmented Reality ”.
It would be interesting to know your opinion.
