Hackaday case for retrocomputer badge

The retrocomputer badge Hackaday, well-proven at conferences in Belgrade and Pasadena , is designed for self-repetition ( scheme, board , firmware ). Therefore, do not be surprised to see him in the hands of a person who has never been to both cities ( example ). But without a casing, it is mechanically unstable. A team of four authors, among which is the developer of the badge (as well as the real vintage computer Galaksija) Voya Antonych, proposed a case for this design, somewhat resembling children's gadgets of the company VTech.

Keys with concave markings . More convenient for a long set of texts. D-pad and space are missing - they are the same as in the previous archive. Deepening can be filled with contrasting paint.

Keys with convex marking . Full set.

The upper half of the body . Print upside down. If the keys rattle, you can stick on the inside foam strips. Perhaps the “tunnels” for the keys should be made a little deeper, and they, too, can be less rattling.

The lower half of the body . It is also best to print upside down. Supports will need a lot. Fastened with four half-inch screws. If the badge has an acrylic back wall, it must be removed. There is no separate battery compartment cover - it is required to open the entire case.

D-pad separately

Unmarked key for fans of a book about a widow selling firewood. Make 50 pieces.

Light guide for RGB LED. Print with unpainted clear plastic.

Expansion slot cover . The hole for mounting the expansion card is provided only in the second version of the badge. The model needs some work - adding a latch.

Spacebar separately . It should be pressed without a special skew, although there is only one corresponding button on the board.

Expansion card compartment cover is removed, the board is connected to the comb:

One of the intermediate options, the display does not fit:

Fixed, but not all changes have been made:

And after almost everything has been corrected, the 3D printer crashes:

And the consequences thereof:

But then in the end everything turned out and came up to the badge. You can program without fear of breaking or dusting it:
