An amazing place is located deep in a cave in the wonderful city of Stockholm. Bahnhof - Sweden's largest provider placed its data centers at a depth of 30 meters underground in a bunker built half a century ago. This object is called Pionen and as soon as you enter the door 16 inches thick, you will plunge into a world of impressive sights from which you just take your breath away. Pionen is replete with waterfalls and plants imitating daylight. And most importantly, the bunker can withstand a direct hit by a hydrogen bomb.
Pionen was built during the Cold War and was designed to protect against a nuclear strike, but in 2007–2008 it was substantially transformed to meet the needs of the Swedish ISP. Now 11,950 square feet is Europe’s largest data storage and processing network. The backup power supply consists of two Maybach MTU diesel engines that produce 1.5 megawatts of power, and were originally designed for submarines.
