On April 19, you will be able to see a bioprinter sent to space and printing living tissues in zero gravity onboard the ISS at
Top 3D Expo .
At the exhibition-conference
Top 3D Expo 2019 , the device will demonstrate and the co-founder and managing partner of
3D Bioprinting Solutions Yusef Hesuani will tell about it.
Organ 3D. A bioprinter. Avt went to the International Space Station on December 3, 2018 and took part in several experiments.

Medical applications
On this bioprinter, the Russian cosmonaut Oleg Kononenko conducted experiments on 3D printing of living tissues: human cartilage tissue and a mouse thyroid gland.
After the experiments conducted on Earth, in the 3D Bioprinting Solutions laboratory, 12 biological 3D-printed samples were received for further study.
3D printing in zero gravity brings science closer to the creation of tissues and organs for transplantation, helps to avoid the limitations of the earth and experience new methods of printing organs with living cells.
In the autumn of 2019 special synthetic ceramic materials will be sent to space, 3D-printed implants of which will help patients with complex fractures to speed up the recovery of bone tissue.
Application in food production
In addition to scientific and applied importance for medicine, bioprinting can also find much more extensive use in food production. 3D Bio, biotech start-ups from different countries, are working to implement this concept.
They are studying the artificial cultivation of cells of beef, bluefin tuna and salmon, which will help to create in the near future, the production of meat on an industrial scale - killing-free, environmentally friendly, technological and cheap. The company has received samples from partners and is testing them for compliance with the technical requirements for sending into space and working with a 3D printer located there.
Author.Avt
Organ. Avt - the bioprinter created for work in the conditions of zero gravity with biological material, such as living cells in nutrient solution.
This is a 3D printer that controls the print material using magnetic fields in such a way as to form their structure not in layers in one direction, but from all sides at the same time.
In addition to a bioprinter for space, the company produces biological 3D printers and for terrestrial conditions of use.
FABION 2
FABION 2 is an improved version of the previous model of the company, the basic FABION bioprinter, printing using different consistencies and different formulations of bio-ink and hydrogels. The 3D printer provides a high cell density and a high level of extracellular matrix protein synthesis within spheroids, which determines the high viability of the resulting tissue-engineering constructs.
At the conference
At the exhibition-conference you will not only see “Organ. Avt” and other interesting ultra-modern equipment for 3D printing and scanning, but also hear speeches by specialists.
The head of 3D Bioprinting Solutions, for example, will not only show bioprinter and describe the principle of its work, but also make a presentation on the topic: "3D-bioprinting: past, present, future", will tell about the development of bioprinting in the world - its appearance, current situation affairs and prospects.
Also you are expected: the speeches of other specialists, a rich exposition from manufacturers of equipment and materials, a round table on industrial 3D printing with metal in Russia, the opportunity to create your own digital copy in full growth on a 3D scanner and a lot of relevant information.
We are waiting for you at the exhibition!
Hurry up
to get tickets .
