In the depths of Google, the global policy education program is brewing, the
Financial Times reports. It is supposed to open their eyes to the importance of the Internet and the power of its influence. Recently, Eric Schmidt, the head of the company, told the elites about online “fortune tellers” - services of the future, which “will make politicians responsible for their words”.
Mr. Schmidt explained that by “a predictor of truth” is meant an Internet service, referring to which, voters will be able to evaluate the veracity of judgments, which at first glance seem to be a statement of facts. Using the "predictor", it will be possible to compare what the politician is saying now with his previous statements. According to the company, the emergence of such services will seriously affect the outcome of general elections.
Such programs will be in use in five years, predicts Google. In Russia, we recall, a similar program already exists. The collection of quotes, including quotes from politicians, is handled by Yandex, which recently released the
Quotes in the News service. The service does not position itself as a tool “to help the voter”, but according to its functionality it will be useful for it.

However, Schmidt argues that politicians do not at all realize what the consequences of promoting the Internet. “They don't understand this phenomenon very well,” he said. - This is partly due to their age. Often, politicians learn something about the Internet from their employees or their own children. ”
“The Internet is involved in the financing of politicians, but it has not yet affected the actual elections. However, this is just around the corner, ”Schmidt predicts. According to him, the real impact of the Network on the electoral process will be felt by the UK, a country that is very advanced in internetization, before anyone else.
The head of Google, addressing the American authorities, stressed: “We need to think about the voter as a person who has the opportunity at any time to find out the answer to the question“ is it true or not? ”.
