VR headsets, of course, make life more interesting: some content with them is perceived much more interesting. Even videos from Youtube, becoming a bit larger, literally take you to your personal, small, cozy cinema.
But the VR headset is full of flaws. We tried an alternative way - a helmet for Ximmerse Visor-X smartphones.

')
And he is full of virtues!
For a start, I want to honestly say: at home there are VR glasses, and not very often, but you have to resort to them. For a change. During the use of helmets, some claims against them emerged:
- It's hard to watch for a long time, eyes get tired
- No matter how the construction is arranged in terms of air flow, the space inside is still closed - part of the face is sweating
- Even listening without headphones, you practically lose touch with reality (it is, of course, logical, but not always safe)
- There are also restrictions on the use of helmets for people who wear glasses, but this is not our case. Bye pah-pah
- Without a special controller, access to control the smartphone is closed
Ximmerse Visor-X helmet solves all these problems. It is also designed to be worn on the head, also provides a larger screen and immersive effect, but in a slightly different way.

At its core, it is a system of mirrors, one of which is before the user’s eyes, displaying a slightly curved display.

It is regulated, it can be set at the right level.

Everything is transmitted to the screen not directly from the display - but from the second mirror: it is inside.

Of course, it is not visible to the viewer:

The smartphone itself fits under the cover:

The mount is quite reliable, albeit simple: loop.

Inside the smartphone does not crawl: it is pressed down by a special element that is covered with a soft rubber band:

Also, for additional stability, as well as to ensure that the edge of the smartphone does not scratch, there are two “pads”.

The helmet is designed for smartphones with a
diagonal of 4.7-6.0 .

As a result, you will have something like an enlarged screen in front of your eyes, and the viewing experience will be comparable to bulky videos with VR glasses.
But at the same time:- Eyes are not so tired, although the distance to the screen and small: about 50 mm
- The space is not closed, you are still in the real world, you can react to external factors
- Face doesn't sweat
- Access to the smartphone is open: you can pause viewing
- Users who wear glasses have fewer problems.
Separately, such a helmet is positioned in terms of convenience: in principle, it does not dictate a pose. You can watch while sitting, lying, reclining, but at the same time the neck will be in a relatively natural position, and your hands will be free. While viewing from a smartphone is most often a look down.
This, of course, this development resembles the legendary "lazy glasses."
DesignThe helmet is made in a recognizable form of "cardboards". It is lightweight (weight approx. 255 grams), it sits well and comfortably on the head. In places of contact with the skin there are soft inserts: in the forehead:

and temples:

Belts that surround the head are elastic and soft:

Front lining is easily detachable. It can be cleaned.

After using the left positive impressions. Glasses are not comfortable glasses, fit well, but do not have the limitations of the usual VR-helmets in the same price category. There is no need to turn the wheels, adjusting the sharpness, interpupillary distance, etc. Put on - pushed the display to the desired level - and you're done.
You can see everything in full, so this simple gadget can be approached for mobile games. Although most of all, it seems, it is relevant as a home “micro-cinema”.
To quote the official description, add:
With Visor X, what you see looks like a 100-inch screen from a distance of 2.5 meters.
According to personal feelings, they add about twice the volume, which at home is a pretty good result for personal use.
