How many did not try to put other programs to configure the network - did not help. Therefore, for me, so far the only way to work in the gnome is 8.04.
Well, in general, I have not worked completely under KDE ever. Therefore, it may happen that there are programs from Gnome, which well, you really want to have under KDE - the same GIMP, for example.
Actually, it upsets me - this is a community spray on the development of little related products. Although theoretically there is an opportunity to put the program on any of the desktops, but in practice it does not work very much :(
