I suspect there are quite a few people who love to read among the audience of Habr. I am also one of them. But it is often not enough just to read, sometimes you want to write out your favorite idea or even make a small outline of the book.

At first I used the Word for it and everything was in order. But soon - in fact, not so soon - I got Asus EEE, and then a working macbook. It became quite difficult to synchronize documents, and I wanted to have a mini-library at hand. Of course, there is such a thing as Google Docks, but this solution was not particularly convenient either.
