Robotics for children: the eyes of a robot

Hi people! I present to you the cat-eye prototype I developed. Of course, the project is not perfect yet (it is being finalized), but it is working successfully.

The idea was to create a cat-robot for children from plywood and radio components. The project from the Internet was taken as the base model of the robot .



Based on the watched video of a robot cat, I began to draw the details of my future robot in corel. The original Internet was small in size, and the movements were carried out by SG90 servo drives. I used DSS-M15S servos in my development. since the size of my cat model is significantly larger. But now I want to tell you not about the model of the robot, but about his eyes. I developed them on my own, from scratch, especially for this project.

In my design, the eyes open on the principle of the diaphragm, and they are made of plywood.

And in order to see the energy of life in the eyes of the robot, I used the ultra-bright red LEDs, which I had left from the previous project of aquaponic.

The mechanism that allows you to open and close the diaphragm of the eyes, I implemented on the servo SG90. All that I have, you can watch the video.
