Scientists have created a robot that can recognize and reproduce ten facial movements of a person, reports The Telegraph. The robot is called Jules and is a human head without a torso.

Jules are coated with a material that mimics human skin. Motion recognition is the responsibility of the camera built into the robot. Special software gives instructions to 34 motors that drive the Jules “face”.
Jules development took 3.5 years. It is assumed that in the future robots created using the same technology as Jules will serve as home helpers.
Note that robots that imitate humans were created before. But none of them could precisely copy facial expressions. Jules, for example, knows how to smile and make faces.
