GeekUniversity opens a set of Big Data Analytics Faculty

In our online university for programmers opened a new department of Big Data Analytics. For a year and a half, students will learn all the modern technologies of big data analytics and get the necessary experience to work in large IT companies. GeekUniversity is a joint educational project of Mail.ru Group and GeekBrains with guaranteed employment.

Anyone can enter the GeekUniversity. The applicants of the Big Data Analytics faculty will be asked to take a test with theoretical questions. If the result is lower than the passing score, you can use the preparatory courses to get the missing knowledge.

The faculty of the faculty are practitioners and employees of large companies with specialized education and extensive experience:

• Konstantin Sevostyanov , BI Lead at Citymobile;
• Mikhail Gunin , Senior BI Analyst at Citymobil;
• Leonid Orlov , Python developer, created BI systems for the Russian government and the FSB, worked for international companies Prognoz and ER-Telecom;
• Sergey Kruchinin , developer of military communications systems, teaches computer networks and an introduction to GNU / Linux;
• Viktor Shchupochenko , developer of a corporate project management system for oDesk and VNC;
• Alexey Petrenko , Python developer, is developing IT solutions for the Russian Ministry of Defense.

Each student is assigned a mentor who will help to quickly resolve any issues.

Graduates of Big Data Analysts will get all the necessary competencies to solve real business problems: learn how to work with databases, improve knowledge in mathematics and statistics, learn applied machine learning algorithms and ETL fundamentals, Big Data analytics tools, learn about working skills in BI-systems. For one and a half years of study, students will be able to solve 6 project tasks for working with data and put their skills into practice. The final stage of training will work on the graduation project. Graduates will receive a certificate and a certificate confirming the acquired qualifications.
