I apologize in advance for “vyser” and some rudeness, I never thought that there would be something to post on Habr, but it was painful. A simple commentary somehow a lot.
I came in today in the morning on Habr and the first thing I saw was
Arch Linux =) Or Linux is not for Nubov. In which the installation process is described in the screenshots.
About Russification, you can see forgotten :) but this is a problem for many (although no one has canceled the distra wiki, it’s all there is to open one file and edit a couple of lines)
Honestly, I did not read the whole note and looked at the screen briefly, but all because I was
embarrassed by the name . Why is Arch not for noobs? The installation is even easier than in bubunt, just not graphic. Setup in a pair of files and not in a crowd of boot scripts. Yes, there are no graphical system config files, but there is a graph of
package managers and all sorts of gnomes with their own system configuration capabilities.
')
In general, I often meet with the opinion that this and that distr is not for beginners. Citizens !!! Come to your senses !!! If it is considered that Mandriva, Opens or (k) ubunt for beginners, why are others not for them ???
Want to see the Linux distribution for advanced users? See Arch =))
What the fuck arch, look at the LFS - there for experienced users, and arch genta is weak and so on. They are considered distros for experienced users because before proceeding with their more dense use, you should at least read the corresponding docks. And looking at the stupid questions on the forums of bubuns, and listening to friends, it seems that everyone wants to learn Linux through and through - there is no gentlemen, you need to think before you do something. And think before you think ...
Any distribution is completely for beginners - new users in Linux are different. Those who are not able to read a couple of pages of the manual, let them use what they use or hire, the one who can, for installation and configuration, for those who are able to read the problems will not make up even LFS.
/ me is the usual lazy archlinux user.
PS It's time to start debunking the established myths about Linux (hello to those who still think that Linux users will compile a kernel a couple of times a day and constantly tinker configs)
PPS From the conversation:
Simply, IMHO, there is a stereotype that simplicity is a gooey, and without a gooi - simplicity * y.
