The first Moscow WIAD: how did it go and what did they talk about
World Information Architecture Day traditionally bypassed Moscow by the side - but we decided to fix it. How did it go, who came, what was told about - in the report from the mitap on the information architecture in OZON.
Organizational matters
Sergei Petrov, WIAD Moscow, UX / UI organizer: - When I first met this discipline, I understood: most of what I did as a designer and designer, analyst and project manager was either an AI, or it was just required by an IA method. From that moment on, I consider myself an active follower of this approach. Therefore, when I learned that WIAD has been held since 2012, and that it has never been in Moscow, it has become obvious - now it will be.In the “class ahead” class, I applied for WIAD 2019 Moscow and received approval.
The first day of information architecture was decided to be modest - in the format of a mitap. They called two guests and prepared two reports themselves. ')

As we expected, out of a hundred and fifty registrations, the turnout was a little less than half - there were 60-70 people in the peak in the hall, in total up to 80.
For those who are not afraid of large forms, there is a three-hour video.
Since this was our first information and architectural mitap, we especially persistently collected and carefully analyzed the answers to the questions from this Google form (you will also have time to answer). So we found out that the topic is interesting, but is not quite clear yet. But this is always the case with relatively new disciplines - people want clarity and order in their products and processes, and information architecture creates this clarity and order.
Thanks to skoooorik for help in preparing the material. I would be happy to receive questions, wishes and comments in our chat or directly to me in Telegram .
