"Kaspersky Lab" complained to Apple on FAS

The company "Kaspersky Lab" announced a complaint filed with the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS) against Apple. Representatives of the FAS reported that the complaint has already arrived for consideration, as reported by Vedomosti.

According to Kaspersky Lab, Apple has created discriminatory conditions for the Kaspersky Safe Kids application, which allows parents to control children's access to the Internet. After three years of application, Apple has demanded that developers remove control of applications and block Safari browser.

The developers of the "Laboratory" believe that the new requirements appeared after Apple had its own Screen Time application, which allows you to control and limit the time spent on the Internet by the user.

The complainants consider the feature to be Apple’s own parental control application.

It is worth recalling that the FAS has developed the concept of compulsory pre-installation of mobile applications, which are created by domestic developers, on smartphones sold in Russia. So the service offered to legally fix the seller’s obligation to bring domestic applications into the user equipment with functions similar to those of foreign applications.

In addition, FAS insisted that users of smartphones sold in Russia, have the opportunity to remove any applications other than service applications that ensure the operation of the device. The head of the intellectual property department of Kaspersky Lab, Nadezhda Kashchenko, said that her company supports this FAS.
