Today, at 6 am Moscow, Tesla presented a new electric car, Model Y. Yesterday we wrote about expectations, and almost all of them came true, without any surprises. The Model Y building is 10% larger than the Model 3. Inside the same interior, the same 15 "display, a fully panoramic roof, 1840 liters of trunk volume (approximately, like the Volvo XC 90 and slightly less than the Audi Q7 ). Information that there will be three rows of seats inside (7 seats) was confirmed, but on the show and test trips the seats were folded.
The total weight of the car has not yet been named, but they say that it is 1800-2000 kg.
On the Model Y, there is a new charging connector in Europe - the CCS Type 2, the same as recently put on the all new European Model 3 for charging at Supercharger V3 stations.
Electric will come out in four versions:
One of the surprises was that the standard versions of the Model Y used rear-wheel drive. In the Performance and Long Range AWD versions, there are two independent electric motors.

Obviously, in the cheapest standard version there will be a more powerful battery than in the standard Model 3 - with more weight, Y withstands a greater distance. But in the maximum trim levels of the Model 3, the charge still lasts longer.

Design like the Model 3 - seats, interior, everything. But Y is softer than the triple, wider, more beautiful and more harmonious, and even more harmonious than the Model X, more of a feeling of completeness. Strong, knocked, madly holds the road. If you choose between X, Y and 3 - I would choose Y. But, unfortunately, it will have to wait for a couple of years.
