A record was set for the Rubik's cube assembly ... with feet

On Habré regularly published news about the records for the assembly of the Rubik's Cube. The last achievement belongs to the Australian Felix Zemdegs, who was able to solve the puzzle in just 4.221 seconds. So quickly the cube can be assembled only by those people who regularly (and in large quantities) train. The same Felix bought his first cube at the age of 12 years. In 2010, he set the first world record, but last year he did the impossible in general.

Well, now there is another record holder who collects the cube with his feet. It is clear that to perform more or less normal manipulation of the puzzle legs need training. And indeed, to the current result in 16.96 seconds, a champion named Daniel Rose-Levin was about five years old.

He bought his first puzzle when he was 11 (he is 16 now). It is not entirely clear when Rose-Levin began to collect the puzzle with his feet (he does not speak about it himself), but it turns out unusually quickly. Every day, the champion must train for several hours, otherwise the knack is lost.

Competitions on high-speed assembly of the cube organizes the relevant organization - the World Association of the cube. Moreover, competitions are held not only on the collection with two hands or feet, but also with one hand.

They taught to collect the Rubik's cube and artificial intelligence. Last year, it was reported that the system created by scientists was able to learn how to assemble a cube itself, they did not show anything to it. It was believed that solving a puzzle is a difficult task for a computer, since any action during assembly has certain consequences. It is very difficult to predict them - both for a person and for a car. In order to do everything right, there are specially designed algorithms .

“It just takes a little practice and patience. But as soon as you understand the solution, everything becomes quite standard. You understand that for the first stage you need to make such movements, then go to the next stage and decide this part. This is a kind of newbie method. And then, as soon as you learn more and practice, you begin to collect it more intuitively, ”says the assembly of the Zemdegs cube.

Robots collect cubes much faster than humans. Record - 0.38 seconds. It’s so small that it’s impossible to see in detail what’s happening, not to mention tracking the machine’s actions. You can collect faster, but in this case the cube design will not sustain.
