Rally against Runet isolation

Rallies against the draft law on “ensuring the safe and sustainable functioning of the Internet on the territory of the Russian Federation” were held in Russia today. These blessed names of bills can be fed officials, but not the professional community and ordinary people. It was possible to coordinate mass actions in Moscow, Khabarovsk and Voronezh (the news about this was on Habré ). The rally was organized by the Libertarian Party and the Internet Protection Society, it was supported by the Pirate Party, Roskomsvoboda, and the Digital Defense campaign.

In St. Petersburg, Omsk, Komsomolsk-on-Amur , Irkutsk had to be content with the format of single pickets, which [so far] do not need to be coordinated with anyone. In St. Petersburg, it went to the Roskomnadzor office . At the Moscow rally at the very beginning, the police decided to raise the degree of absurdity , but on the whole the event passed without mass incidents (details can be found here ).

')
The bill was passed in the first reading on February 12, 2019, about which they wrote here on Habré, and discussed one of the options here . The second reading is scheduled for March 13th.

This is how it was in Moscow:

The organizers submitted an application for 10 thousand people, 15 thousand people came. The Ministry of Internal Affairs announced about 6 thousand - well, all right, the organizers will not have to pay a fine for violating the procedure for organizing meetings. In the news of the First Channel at 3 o'clock in the afternoon reported about "about a thousand people."

The police very leisurely inspect people at the entrance. I stood in the queue for about 15 minutes at the very beginning of the rally.

I have already mentioned above about the expected specific style of giving the First Channel about the number of participants in the rally. Therefore, on the one hand, it is not surprising that the organizers of the rally did not let in (and what could have been this way ? In the replays there was also a story about the occasional RTVI ban) of journalists from Russia Today (Russia Today) and Life. On the other hand, I do not really understand who in this case was going to prohibit the prohibition?

UPD on detainees in Moscow after the rally :
Results of a romantic evening in Meshchansky ATS: by eight detainees, four defenders were missed, as well as water, napkins, chocolate and gingerbread (and macaroons! Thanks to the support group from Sretenka). For some reason, it is necessary to shake and flirt for a long time, before skipping the lawyers in the Department of Internal Affairs, and then let it go anyway. What's the point? All of our eight were released with the protocols according to article 6 of the Administrative Code of Administrative Offenses of Part 5, non-arrest. It is not that there are no consequences at all: according to the protocol, there can be a court, and a fine of ten thousand, but the main thing is the terrible word “repetition”. If the system is swept away once at the next meeting, they will already be in the base, and they will go according to article 6 of the Administrative Code of Administrative Offenses Part 8, and she will be in custody. Two detainees complained about the beatings during the detention, and we have audio recordings and photographs, yes, yes. And a certificate from the emergency room. The story itself, as a result of which Maria Eismont and I spent Sunday evening at the Department of Internal Affairs, and a total of six children without a mother’s watch, is the fruit of the purest administrative idiocy: the detentions began ten minutes after the rally ended. That is, according to the police, after it was announced that the rally was over, all of its participants had to evaporate immediately. Who is this nervous boss in charge of today's screw-driver? On the recent March of Nemtsov, there were no such vigilance attacks. Detained the Second Opposition Police, if that.
