Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg recently gave a
two-hour interview to Harvard University representatives about their plans for the future. The questions were asked by Jonathan Zittrain, a professor at Harvard Law School. At the very beginning, Zuckerberg announced that he plans to relieve himself of the burden of responsibility about the problem of personal data. Instead, decisions will be taken by an external commission, Zuckerberg will not be able to challenge these decisions.
The second interesting statement was made regarding the neural interface that the company is developing. According to the entrepreneur, people need to be given the opportunity to navigate and move in augmented reality and virtual reality by the power of thought.
The head of Facebook described the device being developed (yes, this is no longer just a concept). It looks like a bathing cap, only a cap filled with electrodes. The system will analyze the electrical activity of the brain, as well as monitor the characteristics of blood flow in certain areas of the head.

Further, the information will be analyzed in order to create an additional vector of virtual or augmented reality management. In other words, a person’s thoughts and desires will become one of the tools for working with applications and the interface of 3D glasses like the Oculus Rift. According to the developers, this technology will significantly expand the capabilities of modern man.
In the modern world we are surrounded by a large number of smart devices that interact with each other, but people almost always are outside the cycle of interaction. The solution is that “bathing cap”, which allows you to read the electrical signals of the brain and “unlock the potential of human thoughts”.
"The principles according to which our phones and computers, software, work, differ significantly from the principles of our brain and how a person knows the world," Zuckerberg said. He said that he is a fan of such technologies as augmented reality - precisely because it will help complement the thoughts and capabilities of a person.

Among other things, Zuckerberg
plans to create a digital layer of the real world. This system will be somewhat simpler than what Magic Leap has
proposed , but still, the possibilities of the novelty will be very extensive. So, the augmented reality will help the engineer to control the work of the elements of the turbine of the plane wing that are invisible in the usual state. It will be enough just to direct the camera of a phone or tablet with a specialized application to the wing and everything hidden will become apparent.
For the first time about something similar to neurotechnology Zuckerberg told in 2017. Then he said that his company was working on a system that would allow typing text “straight from the head,” five times faster than typing text “manually”. And this technology was planned to make a lot of wearable gadgets, that is, it was considered as quite mobile.
