Yandex has launched a search engine based on Russian patents over the past 95 years

Recently, Yandex has introduced a new service, Yandex.patent, which provides users with free access to more than 2.5 million various Russian patent documents. You can find them not only through the service itself, but also with the help of the Yandex search engine.

It is reported that the new service includes patent documents from 1924 to the present day. Among them you can find copyright certificates of the USSR, Russian patents and patent applications. The data are loaded into the database from the register of the Federal Institute of Industrial Property (FIPS).

The company declares that it will regularly replenish the Yandex.patent database, eventually adding documents to other types of intellectual property.

The service is a search by keyword, in addition, the document can be found by number, title, author or owner. So, specifying as a search phrase "cooling systems" the user receives in the issuance of all documents, which deals with such systems, as reported by Cnews.

Moreover, there is also the possibility to view related patents that mention one or another document that interests the user, or the documents to which he refers. The system makes a list of similar documents so that the reader has the opportunity to become acquainted with related inventions.

The basis of Yandex.patent is a neural network, which makes it possible to search for similar patents by meaning, and not just by keywords. If the inventions are described in different words, then the search engine can determine this by relating all to one topic.
