The magazine "The Secret of the Firm"
writes about the "unique" development of students of MIPT - the manipulator called Micrise is positioned as a convenient replacement for a computer mouse. The invention consists of two clips and an accelerometer. This set is worn on the hand, and special software allows convenient three-dimensional navigation in computer games or other programs.
The manipulator is an aluminum clip, conveniently fixed on the brush. At the level of the user's palm, there are two touch-buttons, one for a click, the other for a scroll. Micrise can be used as a normal mouse, leading them on a horizontal surface, and as a game joystick.
The idea of Russian students could be considered remarkable if it had not
been patented by Microsoft long ago . “In our development we did not rely on anything,” says Vladimir. He says that only after they applied for a patent, it turned out that Microsoft had similar projects, and Logitech and others have already successfully released mice on gyroscopes. True. The Russian device on the clips will be a bit cheaper than Logitech mice (because accelerometers are cheaper than gyros): the planned cost of the Micrise is no more than $ 10.
In the market, the cost of a new manipulator will vary from $ 40 to $ 50. “To set up production, we need 50 square meters. m and a pair of machine tools, "- says Vladimir Minaev. According to him, the potential market for devices of this kind is estimated at 400 thousand units annually, and Micrise can easily enter the production of 40 thousand manipulators per year. This corresponds to a profit of $ 0.5-1 million, depending on the terms of the contract with the customer.

In a few months, when the development of the functionality of the new mouse is fully completed, Victor Mezrin plans to seriously look for an investor. The initial need for investment from the development team is only $ 20,000.
