If you've ever made a game, you probably have the same problem as many other developers before you: no one knows about your game. Under the cut, I'll tell you how to tell the world about your incremental ** game for free, quickly and efficiently (to some extent).
** Incremental games are games that are based on an [infinite] main loop consisting of the accumulation of resources, their constant spending and speeding up income. Their main feature in the constant growth of numbers.
My last game had little traffic, but the number of visitors was too small to say something definite. Moreover, most of the visitors were not the target audience. Only about 30 unique visitors per month, and most of those who started my game, left it forever within 10 seconds.
At a certain point in time, I decided that my game needed promotion. It took some time to study the question of how and where to do it with the greatest return.
The first place I get fast, effective returns is the
Reddit's Incremental Wiki .
')
The second place to mention is the
Incremental games subreddit .
There is a lot of information about incremental games that you should read, but in order to promote, I recommend the following:
- Participate in Feedback Fridays Topics (Fridays Reviews)
- create your own theme in this subreddit.
The third place that deserves attention is the
site dedicated to incremental games .
To submit a game, you need to log in via Reddit. Unlike the wiki list above, there are screenshots, ratings, reviews and finished games.
Finally, one of the best places to promote the game is the website
www.kongregate.com , which is good for
driving traffic to the game, but requires uploading your game to their platform. A positive point is the possibility of monetization on this platform.
Having done some manipulations of the above (not all - for softlaunch and eternal beta), I got the following numbers from my counter (* and they are about 30 times more than I had before the promotion began):

Now that I have enough data about my players and their behavior in the game, my next big goal is to make the number of users returning to the game reach 15% (today it is 6.5%).
