Speaking at the recent technical conference "The Future of Web Applications," Digg founder Kevin Rose said that many sites today are mindlessly introducing tags without a clear understanding of the meaning of this action. He said that there is no Digg on the site and in the near future there will be no tags. It uses a very detailed hierarchical rubricator, which is quite enough to search for information. If you embed tags, the content “is broken into pieces that are too far apart,” Rose said.
The subject heading can be used for the same purpose as the tags, but it is limited in nature. In many cases, it does not allow to convey the meaning of the material.
