Yandex.Money and WebMoney want to connect to the fast payment system that runs today

As you know, since January 2019, the Central Bank, together with partner banks, is deploying a quick payment system (SBP), which allows citizens to transfer funds by the recipient's phone number, even if the parties have accounts in different banks.

The official launch of the SBP took place on January 28th. According to the plan, until February 28, banks operate on a limited number of customers, and since February 28 (that is, from today), the system is operated according to the full list of operations for all bank customers who join the system. In the first year, the Central Bank recommended banks not to take a commission from clients, although some still plan to introduce a commission from June 1 (Rosbank, Promsvyazbank, Ak Bars).

SBP allows you to quickly transfer money from one account to another using a simplified form, including a phone number or email address. Payment is made within 15 seconds. Unlike card transfers, entering a bank card number is not required.

Since January 28, 12 banks and credit organizations have been participating in the system, including:

Obviously, SBP is a direct competitor to current payment systems, such as Yandex.Money and Webmoney. To save their users, now these systems are considering options to connect to the SBP, they write "Izvestia". And the MTS Money wallet will definitely join the system in Q3. 2019 years.

WebMoney Development Director Peter Darakhvelidze noted that the company is ready to consider joining the SBP when the project goes beyond the test. At the same time, the WebMoney service a few days ago joined the instant money transfer system via the Sberbank phone number.

Alexander Samokhvalov, Chairman of the Board of Russian Standard Bank, explained that if electronic wallets join the SBP, people can quickly replenish them from bank accounts and cards, which will be convenient for users.
