The elections that were held on the other side of the ocean were observed from all over the world. Judging by Russia, the outcome of the elections could greatly influence international relations and global politics. However, the sensation was not only the impressive victory of a black candidate. These elections also went down in history because of the serious threat of their breakdown, because the computer systems of the headquarters of both candidates creaked under the pressure of various hacker attacks, tons of spam, threats and other information bombs.
During the campaign itself, many different interesting facts were raised both about the other candidate, so it is not surprising that many attacks were attributed to supporters of the opponent. However, a serious information leakage was discovered, and literally the entire security service fell on its ears. As it turned out, there was a massive attack by Russian and Chinese hackers, as a result of which a channel for information flow opened, so immediately all measures were taken to tighten the security policy in the internal networks. FBI representatives refused to give any comments.
What can I say, not only security systems are being improved, but also devices for circumventing them. An increasing number of large companies and government organizations prefer to close valuable information in closed internal corporate networks, blocking access to it from the outside. It has long been known that excessive trust in computers often does not justify itself (see the Unified State Exam), but computers and networks were designed by people, and therefore cannot fail to contain errors. So we hope that the “first phase of the war with the machines” will not lead to another global problem :)
