The inventor Hamid Khalidov, who lives in Makhachkala, negotiated with
“Artemy Lebedev Studio” for the sale of a license for one of his inventions for a month and a half. Today,
RIA "Dagestan" reported that the parties could not reach an agreement - Khalidov decided to stop the dialogue with a well-known studio.
It was about buying a patent (№ 2214619) for the invention of the hyperfunctional key "Chameleon". According to Ullubiya Khalidov, brother of the inventor and co-owner of the patent, this development was copied by “Artemy Lebedev Studio” and presented under the name Optimus.
It is reported that at first the attempts of the patent holders to begin negotiations were not successful. Only the incident with blackmail of some swindlers from Vladivostok who tried using a fake power of attorney to demand payment for permission to produce and sell Optimus could convince the studio to answer. Negotiations began in March of this year with the arrival in Makhachkala of Denis Shokhin, the studio manager.

“Denis Shokhin, during the negotiations, declared his desire to conclude a licensing agreement on our patent on mutually beneficial terms, thereby recognizing Khalidov’s de facto priority to this invention and the unfoundedness of the studio’s previous statements about Optimus originality,” the co-owner of the patent says. But, as it turned out, only the initial stage of the dialogue was successful.
Then in the course of the correspondence all kinds of inconsistencies began: the studio offered “ridiculous” sums for the license, wanted to change the terms of the deal, refused to accept “transparent” agreements on the nomenclature and volume of products.
“The last straw that broke the cup of our patience was the demand for a full assignment of a patent for a period of three years,” Khalidov resented. According to his findings, “Art. Lebedev Studio”, wants to be the “exclusive owner” of the patented technology.
For these reasons, the patent owners have decided to terminate negotiations with the studio. “We can only regret that the“ Artemy Lebedev Studio ”does not want to follow the norms of Russian and international legislation and business ethics, apparently believing that mercantile interests are more important than business reputation,” concluded Ullubiy Khalidov. They did not mention their intention to resolve the conflict in court.
