Testing the most popular webmail Ajax version comes to an end

Until now, access to the new Yahoo Mail was open only to a limited number of Americans, as well as to users from the UK, Ireland, France, Germany, Canada and South Korea. By opening a service in new countries, Yahoo tried to ensure a steady increase in the load on mail servers. Starting on Tuesday, September 19, access to the system will be open to all users from the United States, Australia, New Zealand, Brazil, China, Hong Kong, India, Italy, the Philippines, Singapore, Spain and Taiwan. In this way. The number of beta testers will increase by an order of magnitude. In principle, users from other countries can participate in beta testing, but to do this you need to log in via the proxy server.

Such a significant expansion of the service clearly indicates the fact that beta testing of the postal service is coming to an end. This is indicated by the official representatives of Yahoo. According to them, the mark "beta" will disappear in the coming months .

The new version of Yahoo Mail will be the largest upgrade in the history of this mail service, which began work in 1997 and since then has almost invariably been among the most popular Internet sites. The new version was created using Ajax-technology, looks like a desktop application, and from a functional point of view, in many respects even surpasses the standard in this area - the Gmail service. Among the most interesting features are the ability to drag messages with a mouse from one folder to another, a panel for previewing letters, opening several tabs, hotkeys for many functions, such as deleting a message or creating a new letter. In addition, an RSS reader, scheduler and instant messaging service are seamlessly integrated into the Yahoo Mail interface. According to independent beta testers who started using Yahoo's Ajax service about a year ago, the new Yahoo Mail is much more functional and more convenient than Gmail .

Considering that Yahoo Mail is now the most popular email service in the world, such an upgrade will be a very important event for millions of people. In fact, after this, Ajax applications will become the de facto standard for online web services, and no one will argue with that.

The rapid upgrade of all mail services on the Internet began in April 2004, when the Gmail service appeared. Since then, Yahoo, Microsoft and other email providers (including Russian ones) have dramatically increased mailbox sizes, intensified the fight against spam, and began reworking interfaces using Ajax technologies.
