120 million people on Facebook

Back in July of this year, the number of 90 million people was registered on Facebook, and now, at the end of October, the number of users of the social network has reached 120 million.



Facebook's COO, Cheryl Sandberg, said that in the past three months, as many people have registered on the social network as in the first 3 years of its existence (2004-2006). The number of developers under the Facebook API has also grown, with the result that there are currently about 300,000 additional applications, both extending the capabilities of your account, and the usual “time-killers” such as “Arkanoid” and “Tetris”.

I also recall that at the end of June the Russian-language localization of the social network was launched, which probably also played a role in increasing the popularity of the network. In total, the project has about 20 localizations.

It remains only to wait and hope for Facebook to win the battle against Vkontakte.ru and Odnoklassniki, which is undoubtedly coming up in Runet, because in our “web” time, attitude to accounts on the social network is becoming more and more reverent.
