The reason for writing this post, served as recurring questions about the following. Why, the work laid out in the portfolio on the studio website, quite often significantly different from what we see in real projects.
Everything is very simple, in the portfolio we lay out only those versions of the models for which we, as developers, do not have to blush. I, for example, had not had a definite position on this issue for quite a long time, making decisions at some intuitive level. Nevertheless, the idea that it somehow did not quite correctly periodically returned and did not give rest.
Try to reproach the designer with the fact that the work in his portfolio is somewhat weak ... You will immediately hear a whole tirade in response: I would love to, but no one needs it; no adequate, creative, customer; pay too little; no one understands my style; in our village - ha, ha, ha ... etc. So they say only cowards :)
Believe customers there, only you do not give them a chance to find you, because of your work - it is not clear that you know how to think and generate truly original ideas. To find your customer, it is not enough to sell only “photoshop with voice control” - draw for yourself, show that you also have an opinion and a head on your shoulders and you will be happy.

Only on the basis of these principles is it necessary to form a portfolio of work. Showing the right work, you will definitely wait for a customer who shares your taste, your style and your worldview if you want.
