Online mobile phone sales will grow by 43% in 2006
The Divizion group of companies, citing the current state of online mobile phone trading in Russia, shows a 43% increase in online sales in 2006. In total, on the Internet, according to the distributor, about 600 thousand phones will be sold during this period.
Analysts say: with the current fall in the mobile phone market in Russia, the share of online commerce will increase to 2.1% in 2006. Last year this share was 1.3% of the market. In total, around 420 thousand mobile phones were sold in 2005, and $ 75.6 million was earned. The entire market, including its offline part, amounted to $ 5.2 billion in 2005 - that is, 31.5 million phones were sold in Russia .
As already mentioned, analysts of the group of companies predict a decline in trade in 2006 - namely, by 12% to 28 million units. At the same time, they say that there will be an increase in sales - up to $ 5.6 billion.

First, the cost of maintaining a store on the Internet cannot be compared with the content of an “offline” retail outlet, it is much lower. This leads to lower prices for goods in online storefronts. Among the trends of the future, Divizion highlights the reduction in the share of sales of so-called "gray" phones, which now accounts for7-12 % of total sales online. This will be facilitated by the gradual consolidation of the e-commerce market, the group of companies said.
In addition, analysts expect an increase in Internet penetration beyond the borders of the Central Federal District and major Russian cities. This, in their opinion, will allow to keep online trading in mobile phones at a good level.
